From the end of the first armistice on 25m June until a week after the preliminary peace treaty on In August, 1864 there
was no official postal service between the islands of the Danish Kingdom and Jutland. This letter was carried from
K0benhavn by ship to the coast of Djursland, taken ashore by small boat, and forwarded to Randers.

Charged 4 Silbergroschen (=I O~) to Aachen, (2 due to Denmark and two to the German Austrian Postal
Union, 20~ to New York, 5~ to California, making 35~ in all. Equal to 54~ in depreciated US currency.
