Since 1986 the French archipelago of St. Pierre et Miquelon has overprinted the Marianne stamps
issued in France. In 2005 the 'Marianne de Lamouche' designs were also overprinted, including the
€0.82 value. An unusual variety exists arising from a paper fold, the overprint 'ST- PIERRE ET
MIQUELON' appearing on the reverse of a corner block. This variety is the only example of an
overprinted stamp se-tenant with an un-overprinted stamp for use in France. Three examples are
known, of which only two copies have the complete overprint on the sheet margin.
