                             The British Post Office in Morocco was open from lst April 1857 to 30th April 1957. From lst January


                             1907 British  stamps and  stationery overprinted  MOROCCO  AGENCIES  or TANGIER  were  used. This

                              size  H King George  VI  8Yid  registered  envelope  overprinted TANGIER  has  a Queen  Elizabeth  II  5d


                              stamp added  (total 1/lYid}.  Manuscript  'From  British  Post  Office Tangier'  on  reverse  suggests  the

                              sending of stamps to a collector. As the postage  rate was only 1/0Yid, it is overpaid ld. An  overpaid

                              'official' letter is unusual. Mixed reign frankings are not unusual on early 1950s mail.
